Gary Menzie

Builder

Gary embarked on his career with his father Stan as an apprentice carpenter in the early 1980’s, where he learned the value of precision, craftsmanship, and hard work. This early experience laid the groundwork for a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the building trade. However, driven by a lifelong passion for aviation, Gary pursued his dream of flying by joining the Air Force as a pilot. During his time in the military, he received top-tier training and experience, quickly becoming a skilled and respected pilot.

After transitioning to civilian life, Gary spent over two decades as an international airline captain. His leadership and dedication to safety earned him a reputation as a trusted and capable figure in the aviation industry.

In 2012 Gary returned to his roots with a reinvigorated interest for construction gaining his QBCC Builder’s licence. Drawing on his wealth of experience from both aviation and carpentry, Gary transitioned back into the construction industry with a unique set of skills. Combining leadership, discipline, technology, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities, he quickly excelled as a builder. His approach integrates the precision and craftsmanship learned as a carpenter with the strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills developed in aviation, leading to success in the building industry and recognition through numerous awards.

Today, Gary, along with his son Ben and the Menzie team, is known for his ability to navigate complex projects with both technical expertise and clear communication, ensuring exceptional results in every build.
